well... anyways.. i always here those hondas rolling around with that whistling sound.. and i know that it aint a blowoffvalve cause the whistling starts from acceleration.. one of my friend said that its because of more air to the intake.. is this true? i really dont know.. i was also thinking about buying the "blow-off style intakes" but i dont know if they make that whistling car.. and i really know that it aint a turbo, because its not a blowoffvalve sound, its a whistle that builds up, and dies when when you shift... thanks for the help....

i know.. but it wasnt a supercharger.. its not a turbo or supercharger.. thats what got me stumped...

Could be a cold air intake. I have one and it makes a whistling type sound. Makes my baby sound as if she has a turbo.

what kind of intake is it?

If you can hear it at idle and very low RPM then it's most likely a supercharger, if it spools up a on acceleration then it's a turbo. Intakes don't make THAT much noise.

If you want it to whistle get a turbo, or if you want to be rice boy just get the boost gauge. Remember, "chicks dig vacuum".

I have an AEM CAI and it will start to whistle at 5,000 rpms. It almost sounds like a supercharger.

dumbasses think I have turbo. I got the AEM cai, and the car sounds like it is spooling at about 4k rpm's and up.

Ok there is no mistaking an intake for a turbo. Two totally different sounds, if you can't distinguish them than you need to go for a ride in a 4g6. Intakes do not even sound like a turbo spooling.

yeah it's an intake dude. My cai intake didn't whistle though it was a sorta woosh sound I"m sure other intake sound different. Haha I should attach a whistle to my BOV.

well my iceman cai has a small lil whinning up sound... its hard to explain what it sounds like but its nice.. too bad my exhaust over powers it so i didnt ever really get to hear it by its lonesome.

the vtec comment was right though.. it gives them that high pitched whinnny sound..

i had to mount a switch box on top of my stock airbox once and drilled a hole. It makes it whistle and and gets louder as u accelerate. TURBO BABY!!!

what they're sayin is right they are gettin whistle from intake noise. when their vtec kicks in alot more air will get sucked in the engine so anything in it's way will prolly get a lil windshear and whistle. if you really wanna whistle tape some playing cars in your door jam. that way when you accelerate the wind will blow off the card and you'll whistle like a biz natch. or you can buy one of those new cheesey muffs from aerospeed with a "turbo like turbine" in the tip. that will give you somewhat of a turbo sound

IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO WHISTLE BUY A TURBO, IF YOU JUST MAKE IT WHISTLE EVERYONE ON THE STREET WILL THINK YOU HAVE A TURBO AND BLOW YOUR DOORS OFF.
