133137, Anyone having problems with MSD DIS2 in lower rpm?
Posted by eclipserstturbo, Feb-10-11 11:19 PM
I've had two MSD DIS 2 ignition boxes on both of my cars, 95 Talon NA and 98 Eclipse RST. For some reason, as soon as I install them on my cars, I notice that in the lower rpm range, around 1000-2000 rpm, I'm getting like a sputtering misfire. When it goes into higher rpm, the NA runs fine, but the turbo has like a random miss in boost transition. Just wondering if I'm the only one with this issue. Thanks

Does the problem not occur when you run the factory ignition? Have you isolated it solely to the MSD box? Where is it mounted?

They will do that when the air/fuel mixture is too lean.

Yes, it only does it with the msd boxes hooked up. Didn't do it before I hooked them up, and when I bypass them, no more random misfires and low end torque is restored.

They are both mounted under the drivers seat.

Connect ur laptop to the DIS and go into the MSD software. Reset the unit with the default 6212 ignition maps. Under folders>maps>6212
