133101, Custom fuel rails Posted by LD25Delta9, Feb-02-11 11:16 PM
I am about to machine a custom aluminum fuel rail for my E-85 setup. I also have a friend that I am making a smaller capacity rail for while I'm at it. The thread taps, port contour cutters, and injector tap are going to cost me an arm and a leg and I wouldn't mind making my money back. I'm doing this because I want a fuel rail that isn't garbage or a welded up stocker. What I'm getting at is I'll be making custom fuel rails for cheap.
They will be e-85/Race fuel compatible and be HP capacity matched. It will bolt onto the IM no problem, but the inlet will be a different story. I'll try to work out something for the early fuel system guys as far as a direct bolt on replacement but the regulator transferal won't be an easy task...
Expect it to cost in the neighborhood of $55.00 to $75.00 shipped for the rail with -AN ins/outs or around $125.00 shipped for the kit with the filter/hard line to rail hose.
Thanks for your time guys. Let me know what you think.

Why not just -6 or -8AN in and out?
Where are you buying your fuel rail stock?

I'll be going through ross machine. I know they just popped up on Ebay, but they've been around for a while before then.
They have an extrusion with an ID of .800". That's enough room for a 1300HP car easily.
I know some people might see this thread and go to their website and think, "Why not just do it myself?" For the injector bit, thread tap and port contour cutter it's over 300 dollars. That should answer the question. I'm paying this out of necessity and my want to help out the community.

I'll have prototypes done in 3 weeks pending how long it takes to receive everything. I'm looking at about 2 weeks waiting on shipping and a week to get it all done right. I'll have a price list and pics then.

Who wants a prototype? The buddy that I was making the -6AN rail for has ran into some legal issues and sold his DSM, so I need a guinea pig. I need someone with a complete aftermarket fuel system set up for a -6AN or -8AN in/out rail. I want someone to be able to hook it up immediately and give it a review. PM me here or on Tuners. Thanks!
