There is a plug near the throttle body coming from the harness on the firewall. A black and red wire twisted together shielded by plastic. I am sure it must go somewhere. Looks like a sensor plug.

Sounds almost like something after marking.

EGR takes two wires, so does the IAT and MAP IIRC, but none of them have red in it.

When I get home I will have pictures. It looks like stock wiring. It is the receiving part of the plug. It's about 8 inches long right beside the brake fluid resivior

Do you have the windshield washer fluid res in the car?

That may be the power for the pump.

Yes. But the plug won't reach that far I dnt think my pump is plugged in though.

I think thats it. Let me look through the FSM and find out.

EDIT: Looked through the FSM, could be a year thing, but the plug for the motor says black and light green. I still think that is what it is, especially if your washers do not work.

Does the car run? Any codes?

I wasn't very clear. My pump is plugged in. The car runs but has the check engine light on. I was thinking maf sensor but I can't find anything about these cars having one

Does not have a MAF sensor. It has a MAP on the left hand side of the intake. Car wont run without it plugged in, so I dont think that is it.

There is another sensor on your IM, in the back pointing towards the firewall. Is that plugged in, its your IAT.

My map sensor is plugged in. If they have a maf sensor then mine is missing. There are some modifications to the car so it wouldn't surprise me. Hate hill billy engineering.

No, it does not have a MAF sensor.

When I get home ill get pictures and more information. I just recently got this car running again. Rebuilt the block and head mostly back to stock. I've scanned over this site and its very helpful with undoing some rednecks screw ups. The car still runs rich but that could be an oxygen sensor. This plug is limited to a small area so it shouldn't be this difficult. There is just nothing to plug it into.

Pulling the codes should be the first thing you do. Not trying to guess where a sensor plug goes.

I had planned on it after I get the car on the road but I asked for help not smart ass comments. At first I was trying to use preexisting threads so I wouldn't add to the unorganized clutter on this site with yet another really specific but small insignificant thread. You jumped me for that and killed the thread. I asked a simple question about a plug not an engine code. You and your infinite knowledge replies once more with a typical DIY comment. The threads are for people who have done it themselves and came out with the same amount of progress as they had going into it. They post hoping someone has had past experience with the same problem so that they can fix it. I'm not asking for a drawn out explanation of a complete rebuild. Just a general question about a plug. I appreciate the earlier help but if you didn't know the answer then why assume I have no idea what I am doing. I'm not home atm or I would have a picture and more details. Ban me for speaking out if you want but this website is full of threads with answers like search for it or buy a manual and that doesn't seem to be the reason websites like this are created.
