The motor had no oil pressure due to the oil pan pressed against the pick up and has ate up the bearings. There is some marks on the crank where the rods once were. The question is do I need to just go ahead and completely rebuild.

I'm having trouble understanding what happened, i need more info, but those bearings look okay, they're not gone..IMO!

The motor was knocking. before that the oil pan got pressed against the oil pick up resulting in no oil pressure.

Have it inspected my a machine shop. You'll probably need to turn the crank down .010" and use oversized bearings.

I dont know if you use advance auto or not but they have a remanufactured crankshaft for about $200 that comes with matched bearings, both the rod and main, and when you return the old one you get a core exchange money. I personaly used this and had no problems with it.
Just an fyi.

Brand new OEM cranks are only $300.

That is interesting Nate......never heard that.

Those bearings are not fine. Like Dino pointed out your looking at cutting the crank .010 or .020. Last crank i cut that head bearing that bad got cut .040 under. Have a machine shop inspect it and prepare for the worst just in case.

yea i really got myself in a bad spot now its going to take a few months to fix this and there is a lot I want to do since the motor is out just don't have the help or guidance to do so.

It's true I went through almost the same ordeal except mine was knocking because my head gasket did not seal properly even with my arp head studs it was leaking coolant down in to the oil pan. It kind of hard to see in the picture because I was using a crappy old phone for the pics, but here it is:



Anyways, just want you to weigh your options first because we do not all have a lot of money, like me for instance.
