Again dependant on turbo size BUT since you are running MSnS then go ahead and get in the 880- 1000's range. MSnS will be able to adjust.

You are rolling the dice on this one. While Melling used to a great name for oil pumps, something has happened. Either they have lowered their quality or they have a problem with making our pumps. Either way, there have been too many known failures with the Melling pump for my liking. Go with OEM (I actually prefer a low mileage OEM pump. That way it has been tested on somebody else's engine, lol)

I prefer the Crower 2's NA. I think they did their turbo grind with "turbo rules" instilled in their heads. I like the more aggressive nature of the NA grind.

If cost is a factor, I can agree. If you want to spend a bit more, AMM's intake will serve you well.

Im going to be using the SFMU with the 1:1 ratio disk from Vortech. This will make it function the same as a AFPR. (right or wrong)

You're not going to need the SFMU and Missing Link if you go Megasquirt. Didn't see clutch or lsd on the list.

I actually have an OEM oil pump that I can swap with the Melling, so no problems there.

As for the turbo, I had this in mind: Godspeed turbo I found on Ebay. Heres the item number. 300489760613

Price isnt really an issue, if I need more money I can sit and save till I get to my goal. Everything I have so far has taken me over a year to get. The reason I went with the OBX intake was because I got it for an extremely low price and have since modified it to fit my needs. Runners have all been smoothed, welds double checked, and chrome removed for a custom paint.

As far as injectors go, who seems to have the best ones in the 800-1000 size.

Going to go with a southbend clutch, and still debating on what to do with the tranny. My engine is being built outside of the car so no big rush on any choices.

Actually a good idea there. I know OBX makes low quality parts, and im fine with that with none moving parts, didnt really think about it with the cam gears. Prolly gonna swap those out for some higher end brand. Thanks.

There was a mess up in my original post, I had down that I have crower cams when in fact I have the Crane cams with the turbo grind.

I actually had a set of OBX cam gears and know a few people with them. They appeared to be of equal quality to my Fidanza and even AEM cam gears. The marks on all of the brands of cam gears were off though, always compare them to a set of stockers and get the timing marks right. As far as the OBX intake manifold, I had one, it's not worth the headache. Get an AMM intake manifold and call it good.

I dont know. My obx fuel rail leaks and didn't fit correctly. My obx intake manifold didn't even come close to fitting. After drilling tapping and blocking useless holes off it's still leaking and a pain in my ass. The obx oil pan I had and still have is so shitty the aluminum is porous and the oil literally seeps through. (stock oil pan is in use now. Plannin the doom of the obx one)


High quality cam gears seems like one of those things you just do. It's like hey want to go discount skydiving?!?

Yes, totally agree. I also owned one of their fuel rails and it leaks like mad! If every other part they make sucks, you can pretty much depend on that part sucking as well. Just because I never had any problems with my cam gears, doesn't mean they are of good quality.

Yeah, I wish you the best of luck with them. My only point of the statement was to help someone new. Also with the rail I put the o-ring on the fuel line where it goes oem, and also I put one on the rail where l
The little lip is and tightened it down. So far so good. It's ashame no one else makes a rail for us anymore. When I get time after mines running I'll draw one up and start machining them. I want to make my intake and turbo header first though.

I don't mean to thread jack, but what's the AMM intake? I've never heard of them. I looked in the search, but they all just say AMM and don't give any info. I found some stuff for neons and some pics, but nothing for the 420a.

It stands for All Motor Mike. He's a guy here on 2gnt that makes custom intake manifolds. They are very nice pieces. I'm sure if you message him, he'll show you some pics. His screen name is AMM.

I love my fidanza cam gears. Cheaper than AEM, good name brand, and offer 12 degrees of adjustment, i believe AEM is only 10. As for the AMM IM, he boasted a 75whp gain on a neon, granted it was a 10s car, that was running a stock IM/TB and he upgraded the TB as well, but still impressive.

Im happy with the way my OBX intake turned out so for now I will just use it. As for the cam gears, I am going to look into getting a different set instead of the OBX ones I have now. Heres a pic of my OBX intake with a mocked up fuel rail(going with AEM rail).

On a different note, Did anyone have any suggestions as to some decent quality 1000cc injectors.

eww rockstar? Thoguht all us car guys drank beer while working on engines=p. Regardless, I personally like the look, good choice going aem over obx for the fuel rail.

Yeah, i've heard nothing but bad things about the OBX rail, so I figures that since i;m not gonna use it then might as well use it for mock ups and whatnot. As far as the rockstar goes, yummmmm. Plus the color of the can is close to my paint scheme.

I bought it lightly used about 2 years ago if im not mistaken. Ive taken my time waiting on deals and trying to save some cash so some of my parts have been boxed for a while.
