I have a couple questions for the arp head studs users? Does the arp studs come with the shorter outer bolts and are the treads the same as factory?Also Do your studs fit in the dowels on the block?

Im in the middle of putting my head back on the block. I have some arp head studs that i got from another user on the forum. My problem is all my arp studs are the same size when i the thought the outer bolt are suppose to be shorter.And the studs do not fit in the block where the Dowels are for the head, and the threads do not look the same?

Just wanna figure out if its the studs that are wrong ones.
Any help appreciated.

I'm kinda confused of what you said, but there should be 6 long ones, and 4 short ones for the corners...the threads are the same, if the dials you are refering to the the pins on the block that stick out, then yes, the studs should fit in them...pictures would help a lot, hope that helps...

Wrong studs. No matter what else, the threads need to match up. If they don't, then they're wrong.

Dowels, not dials. Did you get the studs in a box or with a part number by chance?

As mentioned, yes, they need to thread into the block. The DOHC 2.0 ARP application should have shorter studs on the four corners.

yup. if you've got all long ones, u might be able to contact arp for the shorties. tell them you have the long studs for 141-4202 and you need the four short corner studs w/ washers and nuts if you don't have them already. oh yea, and moly lube.

Thanks for the fast reply's, The box still has the part number on it 141-4202 which comes up as neon head studs. Like i said i bought these off another member on the forum, he said they where new. i PM him about them to see if he new anything else about them. Ill get some pics tomorrow.

I contacted the person i got the studs from and he said he never installed the studs but bought them off some one on neon.org

Could these maybe be Main Studs?

Hmm...To be honest it looks like a few of those studs dont even have the same thread. One looks course thread the other looks fine. Doesnt seem right to me...

no, they are headstuds, just not the correct ones for your motor...main studs are shorter...

Those look like 2.4L studs.
