13159, cheapest pacesetter cat back
Posted by Erik, Jan-28-02 04:20 PM
Where can I find it the cheapest? Someone said 150 but where at? I think JCWhitney sells it for more than that. I'm going to hack it up anyway and use my own muff. I just want the Mandrel bent parts. I have a press bent 2.5" exhaust w/ a Magnaflow muff that sounds really good, but I'm after flow now. Anybody have a cheap cat-back they want to sell? Thanks!

I don't understand why everyone wants to buy from Pacesetter. A custom exhaust shop can do the mandrel bent piping for about $150 and install your muffler. No shipping costs, no shipping wait, and no Pacesetter brand name on your car! :P

I'm in rural TN and I found one within 20 miles. I called performance shops and asked who could do mandrel bends. Every said "Ray's Custom Exhaust" and that where I had it done. There probably are a lot of you that will not be able to find a shop, though. In which case the Pacesetter is the way to go. I just cringe every time I see the name Pacesetter. <cringe> ;)

ERIK - I got the springs in perfect condition. Thanks for marking the front/rear! Here's some feedback for ya.

Glad you got them in good shape. People at the post office thought I was mailing a bomb. hehe. About the custom ex thing. I HAVE a mandrel bent exhaust now w/ Magnaflow muff. If an exhaust shop tries to tell you that they do TRUE mandrel bending, then the cost will be up around 400 bucks. WHY? Order some pipe from JCWhitney and look at it. The machine that bends pipe in Midas and everywhere else press bends it. The pipe ID is reduced by 1/4"-1/2". So if you get 2.5, it's flowing 2.25 or so. The rear sec. of our car is a mother to make. The hump(hehehe I said hump) to go over the rear DR side crossmember can almost be bent shut (if the exhaust place does a poor job). I'm boosted and want to flow as much as I can, hence the cheap alt.--Pacesetter. I plan to use a Borla race muff and Hi-flow cat(and make a test pipe for the track) I feel 2.5 MANDREL made exhaust should do the trick.

Yeah, you definetly want mandrel bends since you're boosted. And I do have true mandrel bends, bent AT THE SHOP. $150.
