Ok, so the swap might work if you has crazy fab skills and just wanted to do it because you can.

What I really want to know is - how do you plan on making a car that was NEVER made in a RHD version, into a RHD?

will use all mechanical parts from the front clip and then fab the interior up with metal and fiberglass

Ive seen crazier stuff. Alpine made a Civic into a center cockpit car. They shove 350s into Miatas.

So maybe, if you had the time and money this could work. This is a huge maybe.

I think you would be better off buying a quality turbo kit, making it super reliable, and clean as hell. The 2gb Talon is one of the sexiest cars ever made.

i know i can do the work it will be time consuming getting angles and everthing correct but in the end it will be something different when i open the hood but i have also thought about boosting the 420a motor

lol i know its not worth it but i want to be different then every other talon and eclipse out there and this has not been done and i enjoy building so this is why im going to do this. this car is not my daily driver i actually have not drove the car in the last 2 years.

You said give our opinions so thats what we have done, to be honest I think there has been someone to put the 3kgte motor in a 2g before but I don't think there has been one RHD. My opinion on the motor is do it, it WILL be a pain in the ass it even change the sparkplugs because that big ass motor is already tight in the 3k car much less a 2g eclipse. As far as RHD.....:facepalm......the DSM was made in Illinois so its as JDM as a 1969 Chevy Camaro :P If you want something unique and different import an FTO and you will have your motor and RHD.

You're better off using a 6a13 from the JDM galant. With the 6a13, the motor and transmission are both on the same side as the 420a that's in the car now. With the 6g72TT, the motor and transmission are on opposite sides.

The video you posted, the VR4 motor was dropped into a 4g63 2G, so everything was on the same side.

PsychO is right. If you want to swap in a turbo V6, you're better off swapping in an engine that at least sits on the same side as the 420a. And, if I'm not mistaken, the Avenger had a SOHC version of the 6A13, so you shouldn't have too many issues with installation. Plus, a manual gearbox would completely sell me on a swap like this. And a Galant VR-4 engine is a bit more rare in the States, so that would make a build like this more unique. Plus, wouldn't the 3000GT engine make the car a bit too front heavy? I'd go with a smaller V6 to try not too mess up the weight distribution and handling too much.

I'm just figuring you'd want an engine that'll fit (barely) and I don't know exactly how different the wiring would be between the V6 in the Avenger and the Galant VR4, but I'm willing to bet it's similar. If you find the engine bay harness from the V6 Avenger, at least you'll have something that should work with our cars, meaning gauges and accesories. Splicing wiring into a harness that is supported by our cars makes more sense to me. It would be almost like a JDM B18C swapped into a US Integra, but WAY cooler! Less fabbing means more driving and not worrying about one off items failing at the worst time possible, like in the middle of a ghetto during a hurricane. Just my .02.

Galant VR4 uses a 6-bolt 4g63, exactly the same as a 1G DSM.

Avengers have a SOHC 6g73 2.5L option. Eclipse GT/S SOHC 6g72 3.0L are a common swap on our platform. And now are moving onto 6G74 3.5L and 75 3.8L swaps.

I've always wanted to try a 6a13 swap, but never had the time/money.

I was referring to the 6A13TT found in the eighth generation Galant VR4. The timing belt is on the same side as the 420A, unlike the 3000GT VR4 engine.

I'm curious why the DSM hasn't been driven in the last two years? Is it inoperable at the moment? What happened?

its driveable i moved away and did not bring the car with me buying a house with a garage here so the car is coming... the shop i worked at we had to many projects there so could not store the car there

if u want something thats just "different", go for the rwd 420a. rumor has it that the manual 1jz supra trans will bolt up to our bellhousing, send it back to a dana 44. darrel cox is building 2.4's over 1400 hp... thats what i'll do when i win the lottery.

I've got a motor and auto trans out of a 3000gt motor is fresh rebuild, .030 and someother mods but its not turboed.
