the orange light on the right side of the dash with a boxy building looking thing is supposed to be a radiator, right? what exactly triggers that light? is it the sensor on the coolant res?

when i was replacing my PS pump i d/c the res and moved it on the side. now the light's always on. the res is full though. any advice? it that sensor the only thing that trips the light?

I believe you're talking about the windshield washer fluid level light. The first time I got that light I thought I had a coolant leak. For some reason, our cars got a wierd symbol for low windshield washer fluid in '95. Now that I have silver faced gauges from a '99, the symbol is like every other car in the world. :)

Lol, yeah, check you coolant level by pulling off the radiator cap. The resevior has no sensors in it.

My reservoir has a sensor in it. The sensor went bad and constantly triggered the light so I unplugged the harness going to the reservoir and now it only reacts to the sensor in the T-stat housing.

so both sensor's trip the light? i've got coolant and the light only started after i temporarily d/c the reservoir.

i have never seen this light in my entire life... interesting.

Really? Is that a 95 thing? Haven't seen one yet.

But OP, more to the point is the fact that your sensor is saying that you have no coolant. So check the sensor(s) to see if they got unplugged or, if you are really low on coolant (via pulling the radiator cap - not the resevoir cap).

lol ya i know how to check for coolant. i reconnected the sensor when i put the res back so i'm not sure what the deal is. does anyone know how the sensor works? is it just an on/off sensor or does it send a voltage signal?

I am pretty sure it is an on/off signal. Perhaps try pulling the sensor to clean it?

FYI, the coolant reservoir sensor was on both of the 95's I had, but it was not on my 98 or 99. So yea, earlier models did have this sensor.
