It has been a while since i've had to post somethign in here which is a good thing.

Well my issue is that yesterday I was driving home from work and it started to rain... Really really heavy rain and I couldn't evade a big pool of water and suddenly my car was thirsthy and drank a bit of that rain water. I have a Cold air intake which sits just in front of my tire or at least at that height. So the car stalled and I tried and tried to turn it on I took the intake out and just left the above piping. And it was a bit wet in it. Well I just left it there and came back for it next day. Didn't wanna start it tries to but it doesn't work! I used a different battery and after a whilee and a lot of choking gasoline (pumping while tryiong to start) it turned on. I left it idling for a while so it could warm up but the idle is very bad and it spikes all by itself.
It goes from 1200 to 2500 goes up and then down and up and down and it does it continiously. And very few up and downs it goes even higher it refs up to 4000 stays there for quite a few seconds 20 +/- or I have to ref it a bit so it goes higher and then drops again. When it drops it starts again to spike between 1200 to 2500.

Need some help with this ASAP as I am trying to sell the car. :(
Anyone had this issue before or maybe some suggestions?

Sounds like you may have a malfunctioning IAC. Maybe you got some water into it and fried the electronics.

Is there any way I can test it to see if that's the issue?

I am 99.9 percent sure that it is the tps. I just had the exact same issue with customer at work. He sucked up water and had a hunting idle, I used a scan tool to look at a data stream for the tps and it was changing voltage by itself, replaced the tps (pulled it off and dumped water out of it) and the car idles perfectly. Just a suggestion, pull the tps off dump out the water and buy a new one.

Disregarding your idle problem, if you were lucky enough to not bend a rod, I would make sure to change your oil immediatly to avoid spinning a bearing due to water contamination in the oil.

The TPS does not manipulate vacuum so it is unlikely it will cause your idle hunting issue.

It does not manipulate vacuum but I just had the exact same problem on an eclipse. Voltage changed without touching the pedal and it caused this problem. It could very possibly be any other sensor but I think its worth a look at the tps.

if you have a volt/ohms meter and a haynes chilton manual it is very easy. If you just remove the sensors and take them to auto-zone they might do it for you. Either way it is worth investing in a haynes and a good voltmeter for future problems.

I will check the TPS to see if that cold be the issue if it's still wet and buy a new one, WIll let you guys now how it went and also an Oil change for sure!

It is not a TPS issue. Mostly a vacuum or the IAC...That is your best bet.
