Hey guys, I was driving down the street a couple weeks ago and had the a/c on full blast. I shifted from second to third and it seemed as if when I pulled out of gear the shift of the drivetrain caused something to disconnect or break. My a/c shut off completely in every knob position, the fan doesnt blow, the a/c button led doesn't light up, and the rear defogger doesnt work. I've checked all fuses and relays. The heater fuse blows everytime I turn the car on, but other than that everything's stable. Radio works, dash, lights, sunroof, etc. It's a 99 gs. I've probed and tried following schematics and can't get my hear around the system. If anyone has an input or suggestions or has had similar symptoms please shoot them my way. It's hot here in Fla and im dieing! Thanks guys

If it just quit right after a hard shift I'd start looking at the wire harness right by the compressor and also where it runs by the EGR pipe. If you're just blowing fuses, there's a dead short somewhere and I'd bet that it's gonna be pretty obvious.

Thanks for the insight, I checked the harness and followed it from the 02 sensor all the way back to the fender where it feeds into the body and the wires are clean. No melted spots, rubbing, stressed or tight wires, etc. Has anyone had similar issues? Any more ideas? I feel like a component on the interior has failed but looking under the dash theres a matrix of wires that intimidates me haha. I appreciate and and all help guys. bump

If the heater fuse blows there is a short to ground in that circuit. Pull the fuse and put in a light bulb on some jumper leads, then start from the load and disconnect that then all the connectors until you get back to the fuse. When you disconnect a connector and the light goes out that means the short is in the circuit after that connector. (you can use a circuit breaker instead of a light bulb if you want but light bulbs are easy to rig and they work perfectly)
