Hi, been searching a couple of DSM forums lately, because I am buying my buddies 98 Red RS from him soon and it will be my DD and project car, and this seems like the best forum I have seen yet.

I want to get a set of headers for it, but it has 3inch exhaust!

I need some educated opinions on this because I was just thinking this shit up in my head and wondered if it would work.

I love the sound of the 3inch exhaust although it might not be the best performance wise, so if i got 4-2-1 headers, I hear they help with lower end torque, would that somewhat countract the 3inch exhaust? or is this a stupid question?

Get a down pipe to convert your headers to your 3" exhaust. (My set up)

Okay but what about getting 4-2-1 headers or 4-1 headers?

Pick one. You are not likely to feel any measurable increase with the butt dyno.
