This is my problem every time I try to start the car every morning. I have to crank 5 to 8 times before it will start. Battery is good, starter is good. When I try to start the ignition the engine starts but dies. It seems theres no fuel coming. But fuel pressure is good, filter and pump are good.

But if the weather is hot such as 70-80 degrees, then the car starts once all the time. I change the coolant sensor already.

Any advice or help. I want fixed it myself. I already paid 2 mechanics and change few parts but everytime I tried to start it up in the morning the problem is still there.

Remove and clean your IAC. You might also want to consider cleaning the EGR tube if it's still installed. Does the car have a CEL? If so, what is the code? PCM Error Codes

No check enigne light, and no codes either as I hook it up to a scanner. I will try to clean IAC and the throttle body. Can I clean the EGR or replaced it? Thanks for the quick reply.

Another thing to check would be to burp the coolant. If you changed the CTS then you might have an air bubble in the housing. This can cause the ECU to over or under compensate the fuel trim making the car hard to start. The temperature difference may be the 1/2" didfference between the CTS being covered in coolant or not.

What do you mean burp the coolant? How do I do it?? Does it mean to flush the radiator?

You don't need to flush the coolant.

When you fill the cooling system, air gets trapped behind the thermostat (T-stat) you need to get it out.

Open the fill cap on the t-stat housing (radiator cap) stick a funnel in there and top off the coolant until it fills the funnel slightly. LEAVE the funnel in place and start the car. Allow the car to run and warm up until the T-stat opens (usually the fans will kick on around the same time) Bubbles will start coming up through the coolant. When the bubbles stop, the car is "burped"

Put it back together and enjoy your car

I cleaned the TB and IAC. And also the metal pipe from intake to egr. Theres a lot of gunk in there. Put it back and start the car. It started right away without problem. But its 90 degrees right now here in Richmond. I hope this will solved the problem when I will start this car first thing in the morning. I will update you tomorrow.

It's 71 degrees outside today. I started the car and the engine runs after 3 cranks. I know it could have be more if the Temperature is lower. I hope I can fix this before winter. Any more suggestion? I believe this could be related to temperature or I may be wrong.

Its 64 degrees this morning here in Richmond. Try to crank the car and starts after 9 cranks. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.:-(

Did you ever burp the coolant? I always had a bigger bubble the colder it was

1.Yes, I burp the coolant. I let the engine run for about 10 mins. Until bubbles are gone.

Well the only other thing I can think of would be low voltage on the battery or cheap fuel gumming up.

Try adding a ground to the motor, take some 4ga amp wire and ground it on the motor and then go straight to the battery. It helped out my cranking.

How would I do this?

Bolt a eyelet connected to some 4 gauge wire and then connect the other end to the negative terminal on your battery.

Its 80 outside this morning car starts up once. I believe it could be sensor related on temperature. Any more suggestions.

I have volt meter hook up and it points 12v when I turned on the key. What should I possibly do when I have fuel gumming up?

Hey no offense darkone but a clogged egr tube will affect startup at all. The egr only operates when the vehicle is in closed loop, and when cruising. I think this is sounding like a fuel problem. You mentioned you check fuel pressure but what about fuel volume? If you have not already try checking it when its cold and compare it to when it is warm out.

How can I check the fuel volume?

You can check to make sure that there is proper perssure. There's a schrader valve on the fuel rail that you can hook a pressure tester to. Make sure that the cold pressure is the same as hot

Correct^^ To measure fuel volume you need the pressure tester that has a hose coming off it to bleed out gas into where you want it to go. In this case use a soda bottle or something clear, Start the car while bleeding gas into the bottle, count ten seconds and stop bleeding fuel into the container. Since our cars do not have an actual spec. just make sure that cold and warm temperatures yeild the same volume and its an acceptable amount. If you use a 16oz bottle you should have a quarter to half full by the time ten seconds is up.
