12995, stalling when I come to a stop Posted by 96venger, Jan-27-02 12:19 AM
Well I ran the 1/4 mile yesterday for the first time. I then parked it for a little while then decided to run it again, I went to start it and it started up then dies. Tried 2-3 more times and it died everytime...........so I started pupmpming the gas and it stayed cranked, now when I am driving and have a red light, stop sign or if I ned to stop,I push in the clutch and brake, and the RPM's fall all the way down...It has done this before, and I Changed the pcv valve cause the hose that runs to it always has oil on it, cleaned intake man.. and throttle body(was realy caked up in there), changed O2, TPS, spark plugs and wires, and it didn't do it again untile yesterday. I noticed that the hsoed that go to the PCV valve have oil on them again...
Someone please help me, I have a lot of mods being put on friday and I want this car to be 100%
Thanks

If your pcv valve is unconnected, that would help you out actually... cause it revs your engine a lot higher, mine idles at 3K with the pcv hose pulled out... umm, if you have cam gears, adjust them to smooth out your idle... I adjusted mine like murix has his and my car idles like a pissed off v8 with a radical cam... it dies at stop lights or anytime i put it in neutral or get real low in the rpm range... so thouse are the 2 probs i can think of that could cause that... but i'm sure theres a billion...

Nah I don't have cam gears What do you mean disconnect the pcv, you don't need it??
When you say unhook it do you mean just take it out completly, and the hoses that run to it???
Or just unhook one hose?? which one??
Why does that hose going to the pcv always have oil on it??

I wasnt telling you to disconnect the pcv valve, i was just telling you what will happen if you do, the first thing you notice will be your engine will rev higher.. probably because it will fuck with your IAC n' shit...

Does anyone else know?????????????????? It is driving me crazy!!! It is hard to start, and then pushing in the clutch to come to a stop the RPM's drop down and sometimes make it's way back up... but others it will completely die. It stutters sometimes under power.
If it is the clutch master or slave cylinder what should I look for???

mine is still doing it. You cant really look for anything but u may have to rebuild the cylinder. If you dont know what it is it is the little "pole" that engages and disengages ur clutch. I think that is what mine is cause it is really dirty so im gonna clean it and lube it. I'm also starting to think it could be spark plugs or wires or, since i havent done timing belt yet, maybe that. I am so confused and noone knows what is causing it. im gonna have satan check it when they change the timing belt.

I have 80K miles and stock timming belt.
Could that cause the car to act the way it is...
