129877, Just wondering some opinions Posted by Grimm420a, Mar-04-10 12:51 AM
Hey wat do u guys think about a set of adjustable cam gears with a set of the obx stage 1 cams? I kno they're eBay and an important part to skip getting a good manufacturer but I mite just take that chance just was wondering if it would be good on stock bottom end. Also I had what I would consider very nice "cross hatching" In two of my cylinders the other two were just like mark free very smoothe, very suprising with the way he was taken care of thru my early ownership with the overheating and the previous owners lack of oil changes. Gotta get the head decked and xray'd or atleast I think that's what it called. Then to a MSD coil NGK plugs and wires and an NTK O2 sensor with a test pipe, eBay headers, and an o2 simulator, oh and that volo chip. CAI, 55mm tb, thermal gaskets, ported intake manifold, no egr, oil catch and hopefully a 5spd trans but all on a serious budget like PVC oil catch and cai status cuz moneys tight in jersey right now.. What do u think?
Sry for the poor paragragh skills in advance

Yea and it sux too cuz that was the original plan till things went south for me financially very unfortunate of coarse I just wouldn't have it to do it the right way cuz the last thing I want to do is skimp in the most important part.. But do u think I would have the chance of makin some nice power? I kno I won't get 50hp but anything is improvement just don't want to dump money for like 12. Oh btw the volo requires 92octane but ofcourse that means 93 around here so I have that going for me not that it'll do much

Half of the stuff you just wrote down I didn't understand.
Look into the obx cam specs and compare them to a set of Crower stage 1's. Based off of that and the pricing on them you will get a good idea if its a good buy or not.

crowers 1's just a lil better than stock..... I'll bet the OBX ones are a copy of them with way lees quality...
IMO go for the pistons.... and forget the chip.

I can't take it any more. Start using proper spelling in your posts. This is not a community of retarded teenagers with texting habits.
u is NOT = You kno or no is not a reasonable replacement for know.

Normally I wouldn't care, but I agree with them. I don't have perfect spelling, but try and sound slightly intelligent.

That being said I would read the cam comparison forum. The stage 1 cams are BARELY better than stock. If you do get cams I would suggest Crower stage 2's or Crane 12's. Crane's are sopposed to be more aggressive but I think most people would recommend Crower's. The new cams would do good to have a P/P also. IMO I wouldn't go for the pistons, unless you also do cam's and P/P. Pistons require pulling the motor so if you do that much you might as well do it all.

Have any of you seen a template for drilling the holes in the sides of an eclipse that doesn't have side skirts on it? ( oem skirts)

Not exactly the right place for this, but what I've done on other cars is to ink or paint the tips of the clips and set the skirts up to the side of the car. the clips will leave marks for where you need to drill.
