So my wife has a 95 eclipse gs that has a back firing problem but not making the MIL come on and Ive already hooked my scanner up and nothing is even stored. This problem only happens at 3000rpms when shes in 4th gear going to shift to 5th and when its cold outside. She also says "I can feel it jerking through the shifter". Its not the MAP sensor and we only had the car 2 days so I havent checked anything but unplugging the MAP sensor. Im kindda brain farting on this one lol. So any help would be awesome.

is this happening thru all gears at 3000 rpms? or just when shes in 4th gear as you said?

i recently had a problem of stuttering once i reached a certain rpm. replaced spark plugs and problem solved.

Yeah she says its the worst in 4th gear at 3000rpms. And the ngk bkr7e plugs are the ones for 420a correct? Cause I saw them on ebay but never listed for a eclipse.

Stock heat range plug is a bkr6e.

i would look into your plugs, wires, and coil pack to start.

ok i ordered new plug and i got spare wires so ill try that then go from there. thanks fellers
