hey,i have an oil leak comeing from the oil pressure switch,the threads are stripped in the block, i cannot remove it i have tryied vise grips,pipe wrench,everything i can think of. has anyone had this kinda problem? how can i get it out.

Threads are stripped or seized? Stripped threads should just fall out

I assume you have tried an oil pressure sender socket?

stripping threads on an iron block is almost impossible to do w/ an OPSU

Agreed.

Its probably leaking out of the back of the connector, super common. Even on Jeeps which have the same one.

That's why I asked if it was seized.

the guy that had the engine befor me cross threaded it,or something.the nut is completly gone,so no i have not tryed the socket for it.and yes it is leaking out of the plastic connecter peice,but i connot remove it to replace it.will jb weld,water weld work?

Ok so the OPSU was cross threaded seizing it in place. You'll need an oil sensor socket or just break the plastic portion off and use a normal socket that's the right size. You'll probably need to retap the threads but you need to be super careful because you're dealing with fresh oil passages

a deep socket 6 or 12pt 24mm (i think) will work for removal. use pb blaster

Huh? Do you plan on JB welding the socket onto the sender?

Try vice grips up there. I know it's yucky tight. but put them on (with the teeth in the proper direction). If you can get a hammer in there, you may be able to use a little impact action on the vice grips.

I'm wondering if the prior owner installed the sensor with JB weld in the first place........

ok guys like i said,the nut is completly messed up,there is no way to put any socket of any kind on it.and i was talking about jb welding the plastic peice. (where its leaking)

ok. thats it. use a torch and melt everything off. done. LOL

If you do not mind living with such a hack job as that, then try it. You will have to clean all oil and grease off from the location before JB Weld will adhere properly. And there will be no guarantee on that either.

As mentioned above, get some kind of vice grip or pipe wrench on the rounded nut the correct way so that as you turn counter clockwise the grip is maintained. Although shitty, this is not that hard to do if you have basic mechanical abilities.

No, it doesnt leak from the plastic piece. It shoots out of the actual metal part, just happens to come out the connector. So JB weld will do nothing for you.

there is no way to get a pipe wrench in there,it hits the block.and yes,it is leaking from the plastic peice,the vise grips made it egg shaped,so its leaking where the plastic peice meets the nut.i just put some jb weld on it and it stoped most of it, im puttin more on, it should solve the problem.
