12877, PCV valve question. Posted by Dave_FL, Jan-24-02 09:45 AM
There is a lot of oil under my car from the valve cover gasket and the pcv valve. I was geting a some oil dripping out of it sometimes. I just hope all the oil isnt from the sending unit. When I took the old pcv valve out I blew into the small end and it didnt stop the air like the new one does. Was this hurting my performance any? I am clueless as to why we have PCV valves. Can someone tell me some info on what they do exactly. And i almost forgot. About the oil coming out of the valve. Would this be a normal thing if it wasnt sealing good. Would the pressure from inside the valve cover push oil into the intake manifold.
