Dohc 2.0 throwing a p1390 manufacturer ignition misfire code. Changed egr, pcv, cam sensor, crank sensor, coil pack, wires, plugs..

was wondering what the possibilities of what is wrong to throw this code.

the timing was checked multiple times, just replaced the head gasket and timing belt.

What plugs and what gap? I've also gotten a misfire by having a bad TPS, might want to check into that

Also make sure to check the CPS and the wiring that runs near the EGR tube. That tube gets reall hot and can melt the shrouding on that sensor's wire.

He replaced the crank sensor.

As for the wiring it is a possibility I suppose. I have never seen any 2Gs with that problem though.

EDIT: Tim is correct below. P1390 is Timing Belt Skipped Tooth.

Just to clarify for others, P1390 is NOT a ignition/misfire code.

Its timing has jumped one tooth or more. Its burned into my ECU :P

that's what the code says when it comes up on the reader. It says ignition/ misfire... so idk what the deal is. it didn't start doing this till we put a diff block in the car.

The P1390 is the cam signal is out of sync with the crank signal. Typically, if your timing is off these signals will not correspond.

You MAY want to take a look at your connectors to those two items. If it takes a long time to crank the engine until it starts, then check to be sure there is a good connection with the cam sensor.

But I am leaning toward the timing.

check coil, wires and also the plugs if all those are good check the wire that runs to the coil could have heat damage. do you notice a misfire when driving or is the ecu just throwing that code.
