I'm about to make a 4 Thousand dollar decision. Please sopmeone help me here..i know this is a 2gnt forum, but I"m hoping you guys can help.

This guy is claiming 400HP...and I'm about to buy it tonight if you guys think I should...what would you do...

Wow, umm... That seems kinda too good to be true if it has 7300 miles. Even if you mis-typed that and its 73000 miles, that is still very cheap. That sounds too good to be true. It sounds like it is stolen to me lol. and why would be trade a 400hp gst for a stock one? And you dont want to fuck with a car that doesn't have a title. But thats just me. Just sounds like bad news. $3200? IT must be salvage or something is wrong with it. If you look at it, I hope you know what you need to look at. Check DSM tag on firewall and match VIN numbers with dash. Also check VIN number stickers in door jambs and in the hatch and on top of radiator support to see that they match. It just sounds too good to me. I would really look closely and don't jump on it too fast. I would not buy it tonight. Maybe it is a good deal and the guy just really needs the money like he says but why would he trade for stock? If it is in great condition with a clean history, it should be worth more even without mods. I would see what others on here have to say before you make your decision. Keep us posted. Good luck

sounded great until i read that...people with things like that have usually tried jumping thru rings with no luck on getting the car legalized on the road and quick cheap sale is a good way to hand that problem off to someone else. id look into that as well as match the vin numbers throughout like halfass said.

if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. be aware of that. also, no title should worry you.

i'd be extremely careful about this. you don't want to get fucked. watch your decisions carefully...

There you have it. I would really not go for it if i were you. It's just me. But if the guy is interested in helping you get shit worked out as far as title goes and stuff like that and seems to know the car and mechanical components well, it may be one of those gifts from god ya know? lol But if he just tells you "hey just go here to get the title" and take your money, fuck that. Ask him some difficult questions. Well, maybe not that hard, but just to see if he really knows cars. Asking what kind of internal setup it is running (if any since 4g63's are strong to begin with). such as piston brand, if its bored over, compression ratio etc and what type of rods (H-beam, I-beam or whatever). ask him if its 6 or 7 bolt crank, what type of clutch (full face, or pucked disc) you get the idea? Just trying to help you not get fucked if thats what this guy is about.
