i have a problem i recently swapped out engines from a automatic 97 eclipse rs to my manual 96 eclipse rs , all the sensors matched but 3 of them, one to the coil pack,the one by the thermostat and the crank positioning sensor on the bottom of the block in the back, now we rewired a new plug for the crank positioning sensor and the color didnt even match just 2 wires had lines going thru them and one solid so i just layed the sensor flat from left to right and wired them in becuz the wire on the harness and the new plug in the was black, and i put the coil pack from the other engine on there so it can plug in , now i aint gettin no spark or no fuel , the engine is trying to turn over and the intake is like suckin my hand thats how strong it is , so we tested the wired going to the coil pack while im cranking and the test light is not lighting , could this be a pcm problem? becuz the last engine that was in there the timing belt snapped and u know what happens after that, but at the time i didnt look under the hood when i was on the side of the road i just tryed to start it again , could somethin have shorted becuz the engine was already seized? please someone help i been at this for weeks , its not the timing , its set at TDC

Any time you swap engines it's best to keep the original sensors and coil.

The ECU isn't reading something right because of a wrong sensor or hacked wires that you're trying to match up.

Exactly. You should have used the sensors from the old engine. If you have them still I would reconnect your wiring back to the way it was stock and just hook up the old sensors and I bet your car will start.

Wait, the original to the motor sensors, or the original to the ECU (chassis) sensors?

Whatever sensors were originally in your car (i.e. original to the ECU sensors).
