hi i got some problem with my 1997 eagle talon 2.0 i have spark fuel in the rail but i dont got any gas out of any injector what could be my prob? could somebody help me ?

check the ASD relay. it supplies power to the injectors. if you're getting power to them then the PCM supplies ground for the injector pulse. I believe it uses the camshaft position sensor signal to determine pulse, so test that sensor.

ok there is power to all injector but no ground i tested all wire to see if they was connect they are all but how can i know if the cam sensor is good ? i dont know how to do it whit a multimeter

edit: but when i give some gas its injecting gas

alright you're going to want to test the yellow wire at the cam sensor with the key on. it should have around 8 volts. then test the blue wire with the red stripe while cranking with the DC setting on the multimeter. it should alternate from 0-5 volts. you should probably check your crank sensor as well. the yellow wire will be the 8 volt power wire again and the blue with white stripe wire will be the alternating 5 volt reference. the third wire on both sensors will be ground. verify that it's getting ground as well.

Crank signal is also required for injector pulse. You also want to make sure your getting a good crank signal that is in phase (timing) with the Cam sensor.

If you or one of your friends have access to a Diagnostic scanner perhaps at school, it will give you details on both cam and crank signal.

he said the injectors are firing when the throttle plate is opened. do you think he might possibly have a MAP sensor issue?

hmm is the map sensor of a 2.4 will fit a 2.0 ?
128089, RE: injection probleme

no the 2.4 has a different MAP sensor with a different style connector.

ok how could i test the map sensor?

I dont think map is the problem but testign it couldnt hurt. Look in the chiltons for a testing procedure. I dont recall if there is one or not. At Atmospheric or 0 PSI the Map wire to the ECU should show in the range of 4.4-4.6v.

So your saying with the throttle plates closed the injecotrs wont fire but when you crack the plates open the injectors begin firing? I cant even begin to explain that. I would Test the TPS. I wonder if you have a short where the TPS sits when the plates are closed.

agreed... that doesn't make much sense to me either. MAP and TPS are the only things i can think of that might possibly cause that. even then it still seems strange that it would only fire the injectors with the throttle plate open. it could just be a coincidence though and still be a pulse signal problem.

ok the map is good i will test the tps when i can

fuel pump? Maybe

Are you basing that off anything or just throwing that out there?

if he has spark I dunno that it's a sync issue... what's your fuel pressure? How exactly do you know there's no fuel coming from the injectors?

i removed the fuel rail and start the engine and when i dont hit the gas there no gas from injector

but if you push the throttle a bit it spits fuel?

Then I say like the the others, check your TPS voltage at closed position. It may be bad (~5V reading on signal), making the ECM go into flood-clear mode. It normally only does that when the throttle is like 75% or something.

yea it might be a tps prob because when i go wide open throtle it still give gas when i start but i will test it tomorow

yeah I'd say test the TPS sensor. the 5v signal wire should be the green wire with a yellow stripe. also measure the resistance at the TPS side connector between terminals 1 and 3. should be between 3.5-6.5 kohms. then measure resistance on terminals 2 and 3 again on the sensor side while slowly opening the throttle position. make sure the value changes smoothly in proportion with the opening angle.

ok the trouble was tps 1.0v at wop and 4.3v closed but now when i give some gas the car hesitate or stall ... what could be the prob ?

wide number of things. fuel pressure is where you should probably start. fuel pressure should be 45-50 psi if memory serves me correctly. need to verify good fuel pressure before you go any further. we could guess a lot about what could cause that.

i got 49 psi and there was a vacuum unplug but now my throtle stay at 1500 rpm and doesnt go down is there a adjustment on the throtle?
128157, RE: injection probleme
Posted by hazard_eclipse, Oct-07-09 08:30 PM
there is, i believe, but you shouldn't have to adjust it if it's the stock throttle body. you may have a vacuum leak. verify that all vacuum hoses are connected and you have no open ports in the back of the manifold. your intake gaskets may be leaking.

ok i found it , it was a vacuum leak thx now my car run good
