Well i live in the south and we get alot of wet weather. I've had my AEM CAI since last sept. and I love the power increase and the sound. But with all this rain lately i havent been driving it alot in the rain cuz i dont wanna suck up water. Does the bypass valve hurt the performance or sound? Also is it something that i can put on myself? Where on the intake does it go? Thanks!

id say you really dont need one.. i live in northwest fl. and am fine.

also be careful because aem had a lil prob with them not working. they just wouldnt admit it

AEM also had problems with the foam in the bypass coming off and getting sucked into the throttle body, but I think they fixed that. Anyway I would just cut the pipe after the second bend (just behind the driver headlight) and use another rubber sleeve to keep the 2 pipes together. When it starts to rain real hard or whatever, pull off the second pipe and put the filter on the cut end of the first pipe. Got it?

Don't waste your money. Driving in the rain will not cause any water to be sucked up into your engine. The filter has to basically be submerged for water to be sucked in, so just don't drive thorugh any big puddles, and if you have to take them slowly -- but driving in the rain, even hard rain won't get into your engine.

O-k thanks. I was hoping that i wouldnt really need one of those byapss things. I didnt wanna have to cut my pipe.
