Our heads do not lift above 400whp (I mean 500whp editted in 9/10/09). That is all.

Lol, yeah, I got the dyno sheet right in front of me. No real secret but I may want to play with Zero a little bit, lol (no Zero, I didn't go higher than you, lol). Maybe a little head to head at the Shoot Out will entice you to bring your car :wavy

Anyway, I'm gonna hold onto the number for a bit (yeah, I know that's shitty of me). Had some problems at the dyno. but correctable. Ended up pretty much maxing out the 880's (got it down to 92% duty cycle). The W/A cooling system decided to crap out 2 days before I had to go, so I had no front mount intercooler on (only the in line barrel) and I had to "coathanger tie" a borrowed pump to the outside of my fender,lol. IAT's in the 150's didn't help. Brought the plugs down to .018 and still was blowing out spark (forgot to change the coil from an old stock one. Oops). The MAP I got wouldn't allow me over 24lbs either (3bar. Must have been manufacturing tolances).

But all-in-all a pretty successful day. To give you a range, I made more than AWDynamite and less than Zero (heh, heh less than Zero).

More importantly though no signs of headgasket problems. Nothing on the plugs or exterior leaking. Just ARPs with a 95lb torque. Hmm, used ARP's at that.

So then, any problems with it lifting over 500whp or are you not sure yet?

Can't wait to see some times and more boost out of it :D

Congrats mark,

that 3 bar sensor is faulty.....not tolerances. you should be reading to 29psi.

Thanks Terry. Gonna look into 4 bar anyway now.

OK, looks like I can't persuade Zero to run at the SO, so on to the numbers.

Lol, like I said no big secret. Pretty much where I think I should be with the limitations that came up;

This is on a Dyno Dynamics dyno :P

Now a little overall; already mentioned the 3 bar and the duty cycle (92%) on the 850's (found out that FIC does not make an 880. Oops).

I'm running 47psi for fuel, So, though I could bring it up, I'm thinking injectors would be a better upgrade.

We were blowing out spark all day long. Went down to .018 and still had break up. You could literally see it in the AFR's. You would see the blip in the curve for one cylinder blow out. BUT, I MAY have found the culprit. I was playing around with it today and, low and behold, an alternator belt came flying off! This dovetails nicely with the fact that I battery tended the battery before the dyno runs, and my tender never registered a full charge. That was unusual. I wonder if my alternator was not charging and that caused the break up.....

Also, for the W/A, I have a new front mount and water pump coming so that will help those 150+ IAT's (colder air = higher density = more power).

So for 24lbs, on this set-up, on this dyno, I'm satisfied.

Oh, one more thing. The idea of using a W/A system for a daily driver is no longer on my list of good ideas ;-) (but at least I tried it out).

Ok, went back to the dyno with my new MapDaddy 4 :thumbsup, a set of Dynamic Injector 1000's :whoa and a Screamin' Demon coil (plus a little reconnection of appropriate wires - just in case). Got 5 more lbs before we just started losing spark again;

Here is the previous run to that one (where my tuner Matt forgot to hit the W/A switch. You can notice it at the top);

Pretty much on par with where I thought I would be when I started this set-up (though, of course, I hoped for more). I wanted minimum 550whp at 26-28lbish. So 567.9whp at 29lbs is pretty close to there (oh yeah, that's 430tq also. Matt at Dentsport's dyno software doesn't print up the torque numbers). And yes, I'm still running a 4g63 stock "squished" 1g blow off valve :order but that will have to come off for the next dyno encounter. Obviously, will need to upgrade ignition too.

Curve still looks great and I'm now running a peak of just below 70% duty cycle :thumb: what a relief it is.

Very impressive, If i Recall your running the Crower 2's or are you running your own grind in the Turbo car?

For the 150* temps, i get that on a dyno with my air to air IC, just not enough air movement from the tiny ass fans. Kinda sounds like you ran out of Ice.

ok, i officially want you to bring both rs's to the SO, but that's impossible. Having seen this ridicoulously (*sp) awesome thread, you can BRING EITHER ONE :)

Thanks Terry.

Running Crower 2's (NA's) right now. But Zero let me know that DCR does special grinds for our cams at a fair price. So I'm going to hit them up for the NA cams, now that it's going again.

The thing about the IAT's is that my previous dyno run (with the W/A set-up properly and working) I was right around ambient (maybe 10* above), so I know something was rotten in Denmark.

And Dale, I'm going to see if I can get a group pic of all three of my cars. The turbo is pretty much non descript. The engine bay looks like balls, lol. I kinda don't even like the turbo car :order

Must be my NA blood.

Nice numbers...I know that there a few more horse to get out of that setup maybe after the new coils. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, the turbo has at least 10 more lbs in her, so there is a bit more sitting there. But its a process, so I'm finding out limitations of parts as I go.

You also might notice the lowered cut off on the dyno (Locke, lol). Well, sometimes even the best have brain farts. I let Matt do his thing while he's on the dyno (as far as the screen is concerned). As we were doing the pulls (which were totaly uneventful. Do a pull, bullshit a bit, turn up the boost, do another pull. No problems). After the last pull, we talked about how we found spark blow out and he's said to me "I wish we could spin this motor to 8500." What ?! (my redline is set at 8600. The build is good to at least 9k. And he did the previous pulls at 8k!). I reminded him of these things and we just laughed about it. Just a brain fart on his part. But because we have more to go anyway, we said screw it and would save that for the next time.

Cool by me. Maybe this winter we could do a bit of an intake test-off. Unfortunately, I am putting a 10.5 bottom end into the daily (can't seem to leave it alone) BUT that would allow us an engine to work with (with all the intakes we need). I'm thinking that would probably be close enough for comparison's sake. All we would have to do would be to come up with a standard choice of turboing (and the parts of course, lol).

Meh, I haven't forgotten.

Nope, gunning for 10's. You guys already know how I feel about dyno numbers. Purely a tuning tool to see how change affects your power..........but it is a kinda fun game :cheers

Work and weather, my man. Work and weather.

Like Saturday, I could go run the turbo at a few tracks but NOOOO, its gotta RAIN!!!

No problem, next wednesday they have a $100 limited car rental day that would give me basically as many runs as I wanted. But NOOOO, I gotta WORK balls to walls next week!!!

Grabbing the rest of the parts I need this weekend and then maybe it can be inspected and ready to go by the end of the month.

C-16. And we did finally find knock. But it was out of the power range, so we're still not knock limited, lol.
