was wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

first a little background on my car. it's a 96 eclipse 420a, got hahn stage 2 system, nitrous, msd dis-2, Megasquirt, 550 injectors, venom fuel rail etc etc.

finally after a long time got my 420a running a couple weeks ago, w/ a ton of help from friends. then sunday i decided to test me new labtop to my megasquirt to make sure it was working, had a major issue.

after having the car running for about 15min getting the labtop and MS sustem linked up, i got out of the car noticed liquid by driver door turned out to be fuel. pushed my car back out of my garage for some more room, thats when i noticed a huge pole of gas under the car, about 1-2gallons of fuel. under my hood gas was everywhere and it was smoking so i was lucky since it was damn close to it's flash point.

today started to look for cause of the fuel leak. my brother and i found it. one of my injectors have pushed out about 1/2 way out of my venom fuel rail. since sunday is my day off, i figure i will work on it to see why this happened. what gets me is we have had the car running for a while the last couple weeks tuning it. all i did sunday was making sure my new labtop was working w/ my mega squirt. i only had car running about 15-20 min. the several weeks earlier car was running for probably a total of 2-3hours (if not longer).

i was wondering if anyone else has had a issue like this. or has any ideas on what caused this. last thing i want is this to happen when i'm driving or worse. just tryin to get a couple ideas before i tear into car.

never fails, finally put car on ground just to jack it back up and tear it apart...lol..just my luck

That's my thought.

i'll look into it some more hopefully sunday. hopefully something stupid like that.

More than likely you didn't bracket the fuel rail. This is a must and I've seen about 4-5 cars already catch fire at the strip from not having a fuel rail bracketed(Mostly Ford's 1 lighting 2 mustangs). You may have to make a bracket for it if the intake manifold bracket and fuel rail holes don't line up. They aren't hard to make just a 1/4 plate and drill some holes (you may have to shim it though). While you're in there I would give the lower injector o-rings a gander to make sure they don't have any nicks or tears. Also be sure the injector has a nice tight seal inside the manifold bore.

the venom fuel rail had 2 brackets on bottom that slide into a "C" notch, then bolt into car. but i did have a bad feeling about the brackets. i'll double check that & see if i can add any more/new bracks to make it more solid. hope to know more sunday, when i get car spun around and back up in the air
