hey guys...

i have a 95 talon with full exhaust and CAI and i just changed the headgasket on it and i have this horrible misfire. For instance, when i go to start it sometime it just doesnt start until i hold the gas all the way down....then it sputters around 400 rpms (mean while i am still flooring it) then it finally roars to life. but it runs like a harley..it evens out in the high rpms. then when i am driving the CEL blinks when i am just cruising around 2500.

I changed the spark plugs, coil, CAM sensor, Crank sensor...but there all spliced ..i tried taping up the wires up ...but the cars still acting up. Its not overheating anymore but sometimes i see blue smoke come out the exhaust.

Now i am stumped

Get a new set of wires if that doesnt help your timing is of when u did head gasket.

The only thing I can think of, and this is sort of basically the exact thing that happened when we did this with a saab... and I'm also not really sure if we have one or not... Did you plug up the map sensor? If not, the computer is seeing 1 bar when it's supposed to be seeing 17 inches of mercury worth of vacuum.... so it overinjects fuel. Holding the throttle open dissipates the vacuum, and it becomes more stoich. See if that helps anything, or even if we have a MAP. It's 3:39 in the morning, and I can't be bothered.

Sounds fairly indicative of your timing being off. I would give that a good 'once over' just to be sure. Bad timing can certainly make it sound "harley"-ish.

Considering you changed the head gasket it is most likely the timing. Are you sure you spliced the wires correctly on the new sensors with good solid crimp connectors? You said the CEL light would blink on and off. See if you can pull any codes from memory.
