126675, good muffler/exhaust? Posted by Babbz413, Jul-18-09 01:27 PM
im in search of a good muffler to put on the end of my current 2.5" catback exhaust system. i currently just have some piece of junk on the end.
i love the sound of the spool and blow off and enjoy the sound of that more than a rattle can. i want to stay away from the annoying loud ones. id like one with a low rumble thats really not that loud.
what do you recommend/have/love?

I've been happy with magnaflow mufflers. My car just sounds low and deep, no rasp unless you just rev it sitting still

i recommend/have/love a custom 3" turbo-back exhaust w/ your standard 3" bomb muffler from ebay.... $20 i think? It sounds like this... . But, since you are looking for just a muffler...I would recommend maybe a dual tip muffler style. They produce a nice throaty sound and aren't usually loud unless you really get on it. If you want something quieter, look for a stock GST muffler.

how the hell does it sound like that. Thermals are made/tuned totally different than a "custom" bent exhaust w/ an ebay muffler. That's a GST by the way, so you're way off on the sound...

I recommend a Dynomax Ultraflow Welded series. They are extremely nice, do not have that loud rumble that a Flowmaster has at idle. They are nice a smooth and offer a good sound when you drive normal, but when you get on it, they sound awesome and have great flow. Advance Auto Parts sells them. One will run about 80 bucks last time I checked.
I actually have one, brand new never installed, if you are interested, PM me if so.

I recommend Supertrapp.
They look funky, but definitely have a unique sound on my 2.0 ACR.
