Ok so I've come up with two different links from the search. They're both different so can someone tell me which one of these methods (or do both) work?

I mirrored this a long time ago as it worked for me when I was still OBD II compliant.

I built mine into an aluminum enclosure to aid in heat sinking ability.

bumping this up hoping one of the electric gurus will be able to help. Step 6 in the link above says

"You'll need a resistor of ~12 Ohms. This heater element flows around 1 Amp of current so you'll need resistors that can dissipate at least 12 Watts of current. Don't scrimp here as under-rated resistors could set your car on fire"

Local radioshack only has a 10 ohm resistor or a 100 ohm resistor. Is the 10 ohm ok or should I hunt around further for a 12 ohm?

edit: oh and wtf my sensor has two white wires and one black versus two black and one white per the diagram.

I think the 10 Ohm might work, but bear in mind that with Ohm's law if resistance is lowered then current will increase. Make sure the wattage is rating is there. You can do some math and wire a couple resistors in parallel to get your target resistance too.

A few people use three 50 ohm resistors in parallel, which yields an overall resistance of about 16.6 ohms. Each resistor only dissipates about 3.8W of power, though.

For what it's worth, I've found that the exact value of the resistor doesn't matter too much... as long as there's some load on the circuit. In most cases, a single 50 ohm resistor works quite well.

Keep in mind that these resistors will get pretty hot in any case. You'll want to keep them isolated from electronics or flammable materials.

I got one of those small plastic project boxes they sell at radio shack to put it in so it is away from everything else.

The wire colors in the diagram are not for 2GNTs, it was a general diagram. I do not know what the wire colors are off hand, but I will check when I get to work and post up.

According to FSM on 97-99s,

Wire from the ECU is White/Black (connection 4)
Wire return is Black/Red (connection 3)

And the two heater wires are Black & Black/Green (connections 1 & 2).
