I'm looking at an Unorthodox crank pulley for a 420A neon DOHC/SOHC (95-99) and was just curious if this will work for my 2GNT. It's Unorthodox part #020110102; I've never looked in a neon engine bay so I don't know how the accessories are set up, but will the belts recommended on the instructions for a Neon also work for a 420A with this pulley?

Just wanted to check in before I bought.. I can get a great deal on this thing.

I run a Neon pulley with AC/PS delete. works fine. but if you are going to use your AC and PS it will not work because the Neons use a v belt for those.

Good thing you decided to ask about this. 1GN neons use an outer V-belt and inner ribbed belt. The pulley will fit however you will not be able to run the PS/AC if I recall correctly.

Wow, really glad I asked.. I should have known, cause I know about the cam gears being reversible for different offsets (Neon/2gnt). Brainfart, I guess.

Where's the best place to buy one? Stupid question, seemingly.. but I seriously can't find them anywhere. The AF/X pulleys seem to be nonexistant.. they're not even on Howell's site anymore. And there is one place that sells the Unorthodox that I can find for $220 (streetsideauto.com). That's a bit high imo..

here's another question, will the 2g neon (00+) underdrive pulley work on our engines? Visually they look the same and it's for ribbed belts on both the PS and ALT

I just went and looked on my 2001 ACR, the PS/AC belt is K5, and the Alt is K4 just like ours.

The SOHC motors are essentially the same from 1995-2005 (not including ECU differences like NGC or PCV). The SOHC and DOHC both use the same UDP, as the crank is the same.

So, I would be willing to say yes fairly confidently.

I got mine from Modern Performance. Very happy with it so far. They also offer a slightly cheaper one but its not a two piece like the one I have. I am also running p/s with no a/c.
