126383, VHT spray ceramic coat
Posted by 420agreenvilleSC, Jul-03-09 07:01 PM
after careful consideration of ceramic coating companies and their pricing, I've decided to not go with JET HOT's $200 price tag on a ceramic coat. read & heard good things about VHT so I'm gonna try em out.

these are my materials. figured i'd spray and clean as best i can. have it blasted, then sprayed/cleaned again. then start the coats, inside & out. then bake at specified intervals. we'll see what happens. i'll be in touch.

by the way. can you believe that this was taken from my cell phone? god i love my new phone. :)

Dude, that stuff (vht) is the shit. Ive used it on my dp, exhaust housing, and manifold b4. Great stuff. It really does reduce surface temps, and it helps to prevent rust. A++

Not for nothing but, that sandpaper looks like 80 grit from the pic.

Wear gloves so the oils from your fingers don't get into the paint. Most people don't even think about that before they paint something after a lot of hard work cleaning it.

I wanna see what it looks like all painted now....it be all nice and purdy.

Kinda unrelated, but have you noticed what a royal PITA it is to get the bolts on the bottom middle of the manifold? When I had mine off last weekend it made me want to /wrists

ok, i cheated. I originally was gonna VHT coat the manifold, but I found out about a place that does ceramic coated EXACTLY like jethot, but for a 1/3 of the price. I pulled the trigger, and boy, am I happy. Finish is exactly like jethot's Extreme Sterling ceramic coating. They also milled flat the exhaust flange true. All for $75. Can't beat that. The last pic I tried to take closely to show the quality finish of the coating. ok, pics.
