126381, engine wont start Posted by kballard81, Jul-03-09 05:26 PM
ok so heres what i did......seems like it wasnt getting fuel so i put a new fuel pump and filter on it because i could spray starting fluid in the TB and it would start for 5 seconds and then shut off....well after i changed those 2 things, the car still wont start....seems like its not getting any spark at all. i took one of the wires off and put a spark plug in it and tried to start it and no spark at all....then i took 3 and 4 off the coil pack and tried to start it and still no spark or very very little spark...ive tried 3 different coil packs that i know work and nothing. any ideas?
PS timing is good....had to adjust it but now its dead on.....it was off a tooth on the cam and a tooth on the crank...

Did you make sure all the wires were connected?

i think it has very little spark cause i can spray starting fluid in the intake and it will start, but not on its own.....not sure if its stronger then gas plus its mostly vapor.....but when i take the plug wires off the coil, no spark
