my check engine lights on and has been on since i put my header on. So my question being sometimes driving down the road not all the time just sometimes, the check engine light will go off and it will like stutter. Like it doesnt know to go or to say? Also i havent changed out the fuel filter do you recommend changing that ive had my car over a year know?

also my car backfirs sometimes as well like i take it out of gear and rev it a little and it backfires? Any help here would be greatly appreciated thank you.

First I'll say to use proper grammar. A majority of the people on the board will not answer due the incohesiveness of how your posts are.

Second, it helps to know what the CEL(check engine light, in case you didn't know what it meant) is stating. What code is it producing?

Third, more than likely it is either running too rich. What else did you do when you installed the header? Did you make sure the O2 sensor was hooked back up?

well i put header downpipe and took my cat out. thats about all that i put on . i think i am running to rich. but i havent pulled the codes again since the last time that i checked the codes , ill have to pull the codes so that i can post them. o2 sensor is new matter of fact both of the o2 sensors are new , ive also replaced plugs wires new coil pack i have an intake egr is blocked off thats the extint of it.

Bingo. That's probably your CEL, but that won't cause a backfire. It has to be something else as well.

Also having no cat is going to throw a Check engine light.(rear o2 sensor)
If you search it up, I think there is something you can do to fix this.
It really won't matter tho, If you took you EGR off. Only thing i guess you can really do is remove the Check engine bulb out of the gauge cluster.lol

thats what i was gonna do that an the srs light cause i changed out my steering wheel to so and im getting ready to change out my dash but it doesnt do the back fire all the time just sometimes

but my check engine light has been on way before i blocked the egr off its cause theres no cat i know that much but i still dont know why it would back fire
