When I accelerate into second gear the car kind of shudders and when I let go of the gas and accelerate the car kind of shudders. Could that be the problem of bad front motor mount?

Does anyone have a picture of what their front mount looks like, so I can compare to my mount to see I do have a problem with my front mount. I don't have a camera to take a picture of my mount.

if u see any rips in it than its bad. or have some one hold the brake and press the gas as u watch the motor mount. you will see if its bad.

To the OP, like the previous post said, you'll need to look at the mount while someone else sits in the car and revs the engine while the car is in gear and the brake and E-brake are engaged. For the front mount reverse will work best as it will tilt the engine up and back giving you a great view of the mount and if there's any damage to it.

I just took a look at the mount and it looks like it has a hairline crack on it. I was looking at the mount while the car was being reved up, and I noticed that the engine was raised kind of high does that mean anything?

it's probably toast. you can either buy a new mount or pull the old one and fill it with urethane.

I was looking at the Prothane inserts are they any good for a damaged mount?

ok if its the front mount its only like $20. and inserts are a dream! but a new mount and put in serts in it. and inserts in the others!

Is it better to buy an oem front mount or would an aftermarket front mount be ok?

If were to install the Prothane inserts for the front mount do I have to put the inserts in all the other?

question 1: whichever is fine. depends on if you want a vibrating ride or not.

You can get a new front mount from Rock auto for around $14 + ship. They are usually very reasonable on shipping too. I had 5 new mounts shipped to me for $6.

The front mount is Anchor # 8670 and the rear mount is # 8798

I have the anchor mounts on my car and it's like driving a new car. :)

Thanks for the part# and review. I saw a few websites selling the Anchor brand but I was worried about the quality since it was cheap.
