i bought a forged engine from a mechine shop that has 8:8:1 wiseco pistons and eagle rods. My problem is after i installed the engine im having low vacuum like 5-10 in. On my gauge u can see the needle bounce a little and sometimes my car shuts off. When i put my timing belt on i was like almost a tooth off on the crank when the cams were dead on. I also think it could be a vacuum leak but i cheaked and couldnt find a leak anywhere. Another thing i think it could be would be the coolant having bubbles in the system because my cooling fan(driverside) doesant kick on and before the install it worked fine. Anyone have any advice?

He's right, fix you're timing and that will probably fix your vac problem.

now answer this, if you timed the motor incorrectly and you KNEW it was off, why did you not fix it but rather just run it as that?

It sounds like laziness to me... Stay away from your motor.

i will try to get the timing better. and the reason why i just ran with it is because i didnt know if the head had work done witch could make the timing look off. thanx for the help.

My cam gears didnt match exactly due to the head being milled there was a picture that someone showed me when I was asking about that because I retimed it 6 times then came here and was told that I wont get them to match exactly without adjustables since the head was milled.

The mechanical timing of the engine is critical to ensuring your valves are opening and closing at the right time in relation to the piston. If the timing is even the smallest bit off, then you will experience reduced vacuum and compression due to possible blow-through/overlap.

So I am guessing its possible if I checked my vacuum and compression it would be slightly low due to the cams not being exact? I tried over and over then I was told it'd be fine since the head was milled, it was only a hair off.
