k well i got my car back from the shop a few weeks ago and it seems i'm leaking a little coolant. i had a cracked exhaust valve so they replaced the valve along the with the head gasket, timing belt, water pump etc.

my radiator was also cracked, which i replaced immediately after getting it back from the shop. i can see a bit of coolant on the back of the block near where the head meets the block right by the timing belt.

where should i be looking for leaks? the new radiator seems fine. no coolant leaking in that area. is it possible the headgasket is leaking? i didn't notice new headbolts on the invoice from the shop so i'm not sure if they reused the stockers... obviously that'd be bad.

2. check compression
3. check for hydrocarbons

that's where i'd start.

Or since a shop did the work, I would take it back to them ;)

heater was bypassed by previous owner.

i'll check compression tomorrow.

might just be running down there, could be from the tstat housing, seeping along the head/block mate to the rear, since it tilts that way naturally. But yeah, as above, take it back to who did it and bitch them out. you don't pay them to screw it up!

i think i managed to find the leak. i can see some coolant seeping out from the rad cap. i guess it's been dripping down the tstat housing and running along the block while the car's moving.

can i just get a generic cap from checker's? nothin special, right?

nothing special, 1.1 bar / 16 psi.
