I've got a Catalytic converter code I tried erasing it to see if it was just from bad gas or cool weather but it came back so it's here to stay. Before I go buy a new cat I just wanted to know if there was a way around this? As in eliminating it and replacing the signal with a resistor or something along those lines? I know this works for the 2G turbo models but not sure on the NT. There is no air care testing or anything of that nature that I must pass in Alberta just noise level so if there is anything I can do get by this that would be great. Thanks in advance for any suggetions.

I know some people like to try using spark plug anti-foulers to fool the ecu into thinking the cat is ok by limiting the exposure of exhaust gasses to the secondary O/2 sensor (which is the responsible party if you have a P0420 catalyst inefficiency code)
Screw the fouler into the exhaust system then screw the O/2 sensor into the anti-fouler. It's a cheap way around it, but me being me I would replace the catalyst simply because I'm anal retentive like that lol...

I replaced my cat with a ebay "Hi-flow cat" (Basically a resinator) and I never threw any CEL's
