I have a 96 gs and I changed the motor in it, it's a 95 engine. the problem I'm having with it is it's idling between 1800-2200 rpms, when I hit the throttle it goes down a bit then comes back up. I've tried replacing the iac, tps, and even the throttle body with no changes. I did find one vacuum leak in the car under the passenger fender and I put new hose on it and that still did nothing to change the idle. I've been trying to figure it out for 2 weeks, can someone please help me figure this out cause its not throwing any codes for anything

Still sounds like a vacuum leak to me.

Bring it somewhere locally that is known good and ask them to smoke test it for you.

sounds like an intake leak or vacuum leak, deffinately take it somewhere and have a leak detection test ran if you still can't figure it out.

Its possible that he means that one of the gaskets on the intake is bad or has been damaged enough to cause a leak. It could be a leak in the Intake to Block Gasket, TB to Intake Gasket, or even if the IAC isn't sealed properly or one of the vac ports is cracked or had a damaged line attached to it. Maybe even the EGR isn't sealed tight enough.

I would definately agree that it is a vac leak causing the issue.

I would start by pulling vac hose and inspecting it. You could also block the ports once the hose is removed to see if there is any change. Spray some WD40 or similar around gaskets or seals in hopes that you can see it bubble or spray...similar to finding a hole in a tire. Also try and retorque all the intake and sensor bolts. And of course any "sucking" sound that can be heard will lead you to a leak.

LOL...yep....

just picked up my new intake gasket's today gonna put them on tomorrow and hopefully it fixes my problem if not the car goes off a cliff!!!

Its not that bad man lol. I had a 1988 accord and it was carb. Talk about a vacuum nightmere there were at least 30 vacuum lines going to the carb can you imagine what that was like putting it back together after a rebuild. I actually had to go pick up a carb with all the lines attached and I still couldnt get it to idle right. When I would brake the car would die so I had to do the heel-toe with the break and gas... it sucked. dont sweat it you'll figure it out.

well I changed my intake plenum gasket today and that's where it was leaking from got everything back together started the car and the idle went down and so far is staying down, thanks for the help guys
