I read the writeup on the pt lifters/ 2.7L rockers and I was wondering what motor does the lifters/ rockers come out of and what car is the 2.7L in so I can try to find them at the junk yard. any help is greatly appreciated. also, would they work well with the crower 2s and 4g63 valve springs?

IIRC, it's the newer-model Chrysler V6.

2001+. The good thing is alot of these motors die early of sludge, and from what ive read the top ends are normally ok when this happens. So finding a set shouldnt be hard, just takes some hunting :)

"The 2001+ 2.7L rockers are the best rockers available. It has the same ears that the PT rockers has, which means it is as strong as the PT rocker. But the oiling is better. If you notice in the pictures below the stock/PT rockers have a straight through oiling hole (opposite the ears). The 2.7L rockers have a hole drilled directing oil to where the rocker rocks, greatly increasing lubrication in that area."

if you want new ones from a dealer have them look up a 2002 intrepid 2.7

thanks alot guys. can i pull the pt lifters out of any pt or is there a certain one i have to find? im pretty sure that there are alot of these chryslers are in-tact at my junkyard because no one around here knows anything about 2gs whatso ever.

the best combo is really the pt lifters and 2.7 rockers. The 2.7 rockers have the upgraded oiling. As far as pricing a couple people on neons.org said they got both the pt lifters and 2.7 rockers for a $100 shipped, and i think they said they got if off of neons.org.

Question:
If these engines have gone through vigorous testing for hours at a time in excess of 5K rpm, why is there an oil foaming problem in the valvetrain? I'm skeptical on this as the engineers would've caught it and designed it better.

I believe that the pt/2.7 combo only benefits users if they surpass 6500 rpm on a daily basis. If that is so, this only is benefiting the MS users as our ECU will cut fuel, or the auto ecu will rev bounce on 6500 rpm... am i thinking like jesse or what?

It will benefit anyone who wants a strong valve train.

Oil foaming most affects people who autocross, or any time high rpms are sustained for a while.

Also don't forget about the Concordes, they have the same engine too...

It's only for the 420a which is a Chrysler engine, the 4g63 is pure Mitsubishi. The first post referenced the 4g63 valve springs, which can be used in the 420a though.

street port and polish on head and upp&low intake
crower 2s
aem adjustable cam gears
pt lifters
2.7 rockers
crower 4g63 valve springs

current engine mods:

full aem v2 CAI
Full N1 catback
racing 4-1 headers

im not sure what exactly im trying to do with this car, already got a boosted eclipse, i want to do this one all motor with as minimal down time as possible, just dont know where to go after all the head work

If it does let me know cause I think im gonna do the pt lifters and the 2.7 rockers with my turbo grid crower cams

I'm interested in swapping these in as well...

Should be fine with my stock internal motor and 16g Turbo set up... No fancy cams yet.

But I'd like to hear how they work on a boosted car with cams.
