Hi guys ive been a member for a while but i have been playing with the 4g63 for some years. So i kinda want some advice.

Im building a 2.4 with srt4 internals and 2.0 head.
my questions are.
do I use:
2.0 dohc head studs?
2.0 main studs?
2.4(na) rod studs?

Thanks for any insite.

I wouldn't go the cheap route when it comes to your engine internals. My advice is to use some quality new pistons and rods. Are you using a 4g63 block and head?

Srt internals should handle 400hp. As far as the bolts I am not surr so I will let another answer.

Search around bro, there is some info regarding the 2.4 swap. Several members have successfully done this. A few things need to be fabricated, like the motor mount if I remember correctly. OEM SRT4 internals are a good way to go. Back when I had the dealer account I ordered a set of SRT4 pistons/rods for a buddy doing the conversion. Price point was very good.

yes the srt-4 internals are a GREAT way to go
now the stock setup was pretty good and a cheap way to go, but now the engines aren't made anymore they are fairly expensive to find outright.

check these guys out . . .

they do wondrous things with the SRT-4 and you can take it from stock to wild with them. look at the SRT-4 Long Rod kit /drool
if this is a DD don't look at the Titanium setup, you don't want it anyway. the titanium is too stiff and will transfer too much stress to the rotating assembly.
but if this is pure drag then go for it :evilgrin

as for ARP . . .
Call them up and talk to them, there nice
but the rule of thumb that i was told was to buy the parts for the car that the piece was from.
i.e. the SRT-4 internals? they will use SRT-4 ARP hardware
the mains? those will be for whatever "cloud car" you got the block from.
because when you rebuild the engine, the specs you use are the ones for that car not the 420a eclipse. (except ARP, use their guidelines)

the head studs though . . . im not sure
id ask Terry to be sure, but my assumption would be to use the 420a head studs, since your using that head. but then conversely i don't know if the thread and depth are the same. but i know the mains, and rod hardware are right.
if your interested, the cam tower studs are for the 420a if one were so inclined to stud everything :thumbsup

Thanks I appreciate the response. Some of them had absolutley nothin to do the the topic, but oh well. I cant remember the guys name but he had a Dime Bag darrel picture in his posts all the time. I was hoping to get ahold of him. The NT are a kinda new field. as far as mixing and matching. So. thanks for the input.

Ok to clarify because everyone thinks Im talking about a 4g63. At the begging of the thread I stated that i wanted some advice because i have played with the 4g63s but not the NT motors much.

Im building a 2.4(chrysler) Block! with SRT4 Internals (rods, pistons, rings and bearings). To top the motor off I will be using a 2.0(420a) head.

So this build has absolutely Nothing to do with the 4g63 motor.

That would be me, i assume.

You need 2.4L headstuds, despite the fact you'ee using a 2.0L head. The 2.4L block is tapped differently.

You'd also have to use 2.4L main studs (or bolts), it's not a 2.0L block ;-)

The rod bolts should come with the rods, however, if you wish to upgrade them, ARP makes a replacement for the SRT4 rod, iirc.

You cannot build a 4g67 block with SRT4 parts. Totally different platform and design and cannot be mixed. Bore is different and so is the stroke. Thats the reason you got the replies you did. Some members can see what your trying to do right away. you getting mixed up with the 2.3L that the 4g63 guys do.

In order to do a 2.4L chrysler motor your going to need a 2.4 block out out of a sebring pt cruiser cirrus ect.

If you pursue the chrysler 2.4L you will need the 2.4L head studs, 2.4L main studs and obviously the SRT4 internals. All timing will be 2.4L parts as well. Do your research, you obviously havent done much of it.

What?

Your gonna fit SRT internals into a Mitsu 4G67 block, then machine the head from a 420A to fit?

Not gonna work.

No I got that mixed up for some odd reason in my my head. Im using a 2.4 block out of a stratus. a 420a head. and srt4 internals
