im in desperate need of some help. heres wats going on with my car , i have a 1995 eagle talon with a 1996 mitsubishi eclipse 420a engine ( same thing ) . any ways i put a newly used rebuilt head on it all valves are all good blah balh ,,,, replace timing belt retimed the engine , car started fine with a rough idle and kinda loss of power , anyways after that it kept getting harder and harder to start then 2weeks later i turned it off and will not start again. i retimed it again, i bought a new coil, but i have now spark still from the plugs , go power to the coil, just no spark. with new plugs and different wires, my ecu makes a loud humming high pitched sound and also i cant here my fuel pump turn on, could all this be a result of the ecu, help help help help............

hey this seems to be a dead thread but if you swaped engines you need to swap ecus too there is a pretty significant diffrence between a 95 and a 96 that diffrence has been haunting me for years now good luck

nothing irritates me more than some fool trying to get his post count up so he can post in the FS section

Hmm :wary
Not true. Engines are all the same (except of course the 95 main bearings...eh nevermind), you would just swap sensors for any differences.
This is the second post (out of 8. That's 25%) where you are posting up incorrect information;

(I'm going to let you search out the answer on that one. Then you can report back to us)
Items like this make others think that you may be just post whoring. I don't believe that is the case. I believe that you are a new guy who wants to help out and get involved. That's cool, just be careful what you post up.
Hopefully this will give you a bit of immunity from, say a Deej, for your previous posts. But the future is up to you ;-)

So I just joined this forum looking for this same problem: 95 talon engine not getting power to the coil pack after engine and sensors were switched and this is all there is?
No real help?
One person that says replace the ECU and one that says that is bogus but doesn't offer any suggestions?

Read the thread post dates. This thread is from long ago.

Aside from the fact there are literally thousands of no-start threads going all the way back to 2000, this thread is two years old. Try again.
If you're not getting power to the coil and you've swapped sensors, verify you're getting 8v+ to both the cam angle and crank angle sensors clean ground at both sensors, and you're getting a ~5v+ signal from them, as well as make sure you didn't mix up the coilpack plug with the VSS plug.
