Hey folks, My eclipse has been sitting for about 5 months now (for no good reason. haha). I finally drove it last week. When I started it, I noticed that at idle, my boost gauge is reading one notch below 0 vacuum. I figured that maybe it's just because I haven't driven it in so long. To my dismay, that wasn't the case. I've been driving it for the last week and things haven't gotten any better. When I'm driving it, it seems fine, other than the car not having as much "get up and go" as it normally did. Something else I noticed, which only occurs at idle, is that my fuel pressure gauge is reading high. I've got a greddy fuel pressure gauge, so it lists the fuel pressure in kg/cm2. Normally it sits just below 3.5, but now at idle it sits at 4.0. Once I start driving it's fine. At first I thought I must have a vacuum leak, but I've taken it to two different shops in the last week and neither one can find any vacuum leaks. I'm really confused as to why it's started to act like this.

I've searched the boards and found some possible things to check: O2 sensor, coolant temp sensor, tps, and iac. I'm just wondering if anyone has any other ideas of things this could possibly be? The idle seems a tad low at around 600rpm. My zeitronix shows A/F at 14.7 at idle. Like I said, I'm a bit confused. Combine that with the fact that I'm totally strapped for cash because I'm trying to buy a home, I'd like to get some opinions from you guys that really know what you're doing with our cars so that I can possibly save myself from throwing away money by my guessing. I'd really appreciate any input you may have.

I would deff think it would be a cracked vacuum line or something. Have you tried checking it yourself?

either a) physically look at the lines for a hole. Or b) replace all lines with new lines to be sure they are fine.

As a part of option a) you might wanna check for kinks in the line. Places were it might have gotten pined or pinched against two objects.

Your car idles normal otherwise right? If your car runs fine then its just something to do with the vaccum line or even the gauge itself.

ps, were have you tapped into to get your vaccum from. just a minor thing to consider too.

So... you bought the car already built up and turbo'd huh?

Sounds like a vac leak to me. Probably a cracked hose or a hose has pulled off a nipple somewhere.

You might have to pull off each line and inspect them to find the cracks or tears.
