123958, CEL idle control sensor malfunction
Posted by dceclipsers, Feb-08-09 12:09 AM
My check engine light came on so I took my car to Oreillys and had the computer scanned. The code the scanner came up with was a idle control sensor malfunction. Can anyone tell me what this is? My car is a 95 2gnt 5 speed. I have noticed a hesitation when I accelerate and it seems to be getting worse. Any help will be appreciated.

Your idle air motor is either dead, dying, unplugged, or has a damaged harness.

x2. Check the resistance with a multimeter by setting it to ohms and putting the leads on pins on 1 and 4 and then 2 and 3. Should read between 38-53 or so. If not replace. Idle air control motor/sensor is the bottom one on the backside of the throttle body. If it is bad, rockauto.com has them about fifty bucks cheaper than autozone.
