Ok I just pulled a motor out of a good eclipse to make mine run again. I changed the valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket just for giggles while I had it out...

The head gasket looks like it's been worked on since it was a metal gasket and not the standard one.

But now three weeks after install I'm loosing oil...can anyone figure this out?? The out side of the motor looks dry..any ideas?

check your coolant to see if there's oil in it, then I'd do a wet compression test to see if you're burning it past the rings.

Is there blue/whitish smoke coming out the exhaust when you gun it? Pull the plugs too and have a look at them as well.

Where does the motor look dry on the outside? Have you done your due diligence and crawled back under there with a flashlight to inspect all four sides from below?

You're sure there's no oil dripping onto the ground. I think Terry might be the only one here with a spotless driveway, and that's because he would be able to scare the drips from landing on his drive. (Or maybe he has gravel to hide them?) ;) If you've got a few drips pre-existing, slip a piece of clean cardboard under the car between the front wheels when you park it for the night. Check it before you leave in the morning. If you've got drips, now you'll know where to look for them even closer.

Otherwise, check your coolant overflow as Ronin mentioned above. Baby shit in the coolant is a sure sign of headgasket suckfest being imminent.
