Does anyone know if it is possible to swap a evo 8 motor into a 99 eclipse RS. I was told that the motor mounts bolt up will little to no modification. Can some one please clarify this for me?

Yes, please search. It is possbile but its also possible to bolt a wankle in it too, as long as you have the money and time you can do it.

And the general consensus is that it's not even close to being worth the time or the money.

the biggest issue that you'll run into is that the crossmember and steering rack want to occupy the same space as the transfer case on the transaxle, which can't be removed

Check it out but I agree with the vast majority here. It is not worth it at all. Even if you think you're being unique or special by having an Evo setup people won't be impressed. Chances are the people who see that you have done the swap will also be the ones that considered it but didn't go through with it because of how foolish it is.

thank you for all of your help i think i might just go out and buy a 97-99 gsx for that money and swap all of my mods on to that car thank you again...
