Found this on ebay and wondered if the price is too high. Would I be better off finding an automotive machine shop locally to bore mine out and make a new plate? I'm in SoCal. Thanks.

If your going to upgrade your TB, just the MP 60mm or IMO its not worth it.

+1, its an awesome throttle body. This is what gets me though, I have a buddy who has a honda hatch that does better than 14s in the quarter on all motor. I told him I was getting a 60mm tb and he was like "thats it? why so small?" Apparently civics come with around a 60 on it, and he was running a 70mm. I told him how ours start at 52 and neck down to 49 and he was like holy shit.

So when you think about it, unless you can build a 55mm using a dirt cheap jeep tb, Id just go full 60.

Umm Jeeps are 60mm. Some are 55mm. I believe the automatic ones are 60mm straight through. with the 55mm you can machine the bottom half to 60, or make a 62mm plate and bore the whole thing to 62mm. Just food for thought.

Lol, so much to think about. I'll keep you all posted but I'm already buying a 55mm. Maybe I'll just get a Jeep TB dirt cheap from the junkyard and start another project. Can always sell off one or the other.

My bad I had it backwards, I thought it was 55s that could be found every day and 60s were harder to find.

In the end it really comes down to what you want to do, how much you want to spend, and if you are mechanically inclined enough to handle the jeep tb mod. If you are, its cheaper than buying a new one. Sometimes WAY cheaper.

Or just follow Dino's example and run a 90mm throttle body. I wish I could find the picture of him stick his arm up to his elbow in the intake manifold.

Its not a 90mm, his is a 75mm. The same as mine...

1mm is 0.03937in

Doesn't seem like that much of a difference but when you start calculating the volume of air that can flow though is does help alot. Also I bought my jeep TB off ebay for $20 shipped I believe. Took a few weeks to find a cheap one but it paid off.

Thank you, that's just over a 32th (.032) of an inch. I understand that even though seemingly small it does contribute to a much higher flow. I'm going to do that 1/2 shaft mod to the TB when I get it for sure.
