well i"m pretty ssure i broke a ring land on my piston is it possable to pull a piston from the bottm of the motor or do I HAVE to pull the head off again?

you CAN pull it out the bottom of the motor just move the crank around and you can get it out
however, I've never tried (or heard) of anybody putting it back in that way. not sure if you would be able to get a ring compressor in the bottom or not

how about if i was to remove the crank journals and crank?would I also need to ball hone the cylinder?I believe my piston/oil ring took a duece.

The underside of the block is not flat around the bore and you will not be able to put the piston back in. You may have to pull the crank out to have enough room to pull the piston out the bottom also. Its not worth trying it IMO. You you have another piston to install if this one is cracked? If not dont even waste your time pulling it out. I drove my car with 2 cracked pistons for over a month before I had the built motor ready to drop in. Car ran fine it just smoked.

see, once you get into the crank removal then you have to take off enough stuff (oil pump, timing sprocket, unbolt it from the flywheel etc) to get it out that you should just drop the motor out and rebuild it correctly, especially the sealing of the bottom girdle!
it becomes a PITA to do it still in the car

drop it out, rebuild it right then you don't loose sleep knowing you did it right.
sucks but its better this way
