Im getting pretty sick of patching up holes in my exhaust every other month. Im looking to just replace it all and be done with it. But Im going to be picky here. I have an OBX header which I swear by and will run nothing but, I have a Borla muffler and love the sound. Is there anything that comes without a muffler out there? All the ones I saw were overly expensive and came with Cans on them. Also, does Cat-back mean FROM the catalytic convertor back, or does it delete the cat also? I ask because my post-cat flange has been gone for quite a while. If it deletes the cat I can just have it cut and put my Magnaflow cat in.

catback is exactly what it says. its from the catalytic converter back. it doesn't delete the cat. you bolt the new exhaust to your old cat. kinda a pita if you have alot of rust. you could always go to a local exhaust shop and have them custom bend some for you and use your old muffler. i've never seen exhaust without the muffler on it.

^what he said. You can have a custom exhaust made or you can by a catback and have them cut off the muffler that came on it and put on your borla muffler. Personally, I would recommend the tsudo for a cheap good sounding well fitting exhaust. If wherever you are you don't have emissions, then you can by a test pipe from concept illusions and replace your cat with that or like you said install the cat you have laying around

I think this is the route Im going to take though. Instead of Nickle and Dime-ing myself to death with this exhaust, Ill just start new.

What should I do about not having a flange where the cat bolts up to the rest of the exhaust? Buy a cheap test pipe and just cut it and put the cat in?

I've seen tons of bare flanges just hanging on the walls at muffler shops here in SoCal. Probably get one for a few bucks. Let me know if you can't get one wherever you are and I can pick one up here and mail it to you.

Whats the stock exhaust size, 2" or 2.25"? After this my whole exhaust will be 2.5". I heard if you stay N/T to of course stay away from 3", understandably, but 2.5 should be good right? I would think it would deepen the tone a little too.

Even the cheapest catbacks don't go for less than $200-$250 shipped...
And at that point, even though they "guarantee" fitment, You oft must make modifications to either it, or your hangers. Either go with an OEM replacement or quality aftermarket piece. Do it right the first time, otherwise you'll be right where you are again, soon.

I have a 3'' intake with a 2.5 exhaust and it feels great; nice tone too.

stock exhaust I measured once at 1.75" but it could have been too close to a bend. for our size engines 2.5 is good for flow and it's not too big to reduce the velocity of the exhaust which hurts the scavenging effect.

I remember a while ago everyone talking about the Tsudo exhausts on Ebay, decent price, good fitment, good sound.
