Found a cheep harness w ecu to replace mine but its from a neon.Will it work if i use the ecu that came with it?

what year neon? Did the neon have the 420a DOHC?

auto or manual tranny in the neon?

I will say yes. As long as it is a DOHC,,BUT you will have a lot of wireing to do..I bet it will also be a big pain in the A**. I would not waste my time with it, just find ther right parts...

x2. Agreed. You'll have a extend some wires from the harness to fit the eclipse

You are all VERY wrong.

It will require repinning with the Eclipse harness on the ECU harness.

Where the engine harness meets the interior harness, they are different plugs.

It can be done. IIRC the O2 sensors are swapped, coils are swapped, and some others.

I have compared the pinouts, put the in Excel and gone down the list to decide which wires needed to moved where.

At one point I heard a rumor that the neon ECU would work in an Eclipse, but they were a year ahead of us. 97 neon ECU in a 98 Eclipse, etc. I haven't tried it, but the next time I am at a junkyard I'll see if I can prove or disprove this theory.

ok.Im asking cause my harness is shot but he has a harness and pcm off of a neon. still on car and motor runs drives. I really dont wanna do much cutting,splicing.But if its just some pigtails ect ill do it but if not,ill still search for a 96 harness.

search for a 96 harness.
It will be more work then what you think to use the Neon stuff right.
