My car (which im getting ready to sell), has started acting odd on me at a bad time. It refuses to start sometimes. Giving it 5 or 6 tries it might start and then die. If I put the key to on, wait 2 seconds and then start it will somtimes start and work fine (after a fwe tries sometimes) (which is how i've been driving this thing all day)

What could be the cause of this?

No CEL.

thats usually what happens with 2gnts when you go to sell them... They are family and dont want to go. :shrug

I suppose I should have mentioned what car it is. It's a 97 eclipse rs.

Fuel pump? ack, thats gonnna be a costly one.

maybe the fuel pump relay.

simple easy fix. check the wiring from the battery to the starter.

Ordered a relay, should get it sometime tomorrow.

It cranks, but it doesn't feel like going most times.

I would think that you, of all people, could fix this yourself. Tsk tsk. Whatever happened to all the omnipotence and omniscience? Good luck... I guess.

Maybe the wages of blasphemy are fuel system issues... :shrug

I'm changing my vote to Dicemans- if its a 1997, its probably the Fuelpump/ASD relay.

Hi, I am having a similar problem with my g/f's eclipse.
Can someone explain what is the ACD relays?
You mean the relays next to the brake reservsoir area?
If those relays are the ACD, which one is it?

my 98 had it on the far left i believe. chiltons says which one it is.

Well, got the relay, popped it in, fixed the problem. (for my 97 automatic, it was the one on the left)
